A Dinosaur Eggs-travaganza comes to Captain Cook Square!

This Easter at Captain Cook Square Shopping Centre, families in and around Middlesbrough will be invited to take part in our free egg hunt with a difference.

On Wednesday 17 April from 11am to 4pm our very own Captain Cook Palaeontologists, Terry Dactyl and Velocity Raptor, will be leading children on the hunt for some extremely unusual Easter eggs and handing out sweet treats to all those who complete the trail.

There will be a total of six thirty-minute sessions running at 11:00am, 11:45am, 12:30pm, 1:45pm, 2:30pm and 3:15pm, so there are plenty of opportunities to get involved with the hunt.

Captain Cook Square centre manager, Lynn Stainsby, said “We’re really excited to launch our Dino Hunt event at Captain Cook Square this Easter. We wanted to put a bit of a spin on the typical Easter egg hunt to create a buzz around the centre of Middlesbrough. We’re looking forward to welcoming families to the centre for the free event and hope they enjoy the day.”

In the lead up to the event a social media competition will be published on the centre’s Facebook page, giving shoppers the opportunity to win a selection of prizes from the retailers within Captain Cook Square. To enter, customers should head to Captain Cook Square and be on the lookout for a special Dinosaur egg hidden in one retailer window. Simply take a photo with the egg and upload to the competition post on Facebook, in addition to ‘liking’ the Captain Cook Square page.

Dino hunters can also keep a look out for the special ‘Thomasaurus’ eggs hiding at Thomas the Baker. Budding palaeontologists can pick up a picture of the elusive Thomasaurus in store to colour in and the two best designs will be chosen to take home the special (Belgian chocolate) eggs on the day of the event. Thomas’ will also have some limited edition mini Belgian chocolate dinosaurs available for a roarsome Easter treat with a difference.
